About Me
My name is Bryan Metcalf and I am a Journalism/Photography double-major in my final year at Sacramento State University. I’ve covered just about everything at least once over the years either with my camera or with my words. My photos and articles have appeared in The George-Anne Daily (Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, Ga.), The Aquin (University of St. Thomas, St, Paul, Minn.), Napa Valley Register (Napa, Calif.) and on SacStateSports.com.
Here’s a list of what I’ve covered:
- High school: football, boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball, boys soccer
- NCAA: Men’s and Women’s Div. I basketball, Div. I FCS football, Div. III football, Div. I Men’s Soccer, Div. III Men’s and Women’s hockey
Personally my favorite sport is hockey, followed by baseball. I’ve played both almost all my life in some form or another. I’m currently in my second season with the Sac State club hockey team, and I’m proud to say I was a part of two CIF North Coast Section championship teams with the Justin-Siena Braves baseball team in high school (2003 & 2004).
I also enjoy college basketball, high school football, and college football. Professional football is too slow, and I’ll call the NBA a “professional” league when the players quit acting like playground thugs and instead act like, well, professionals.
